If I load a book or music onto a microSD card for the Clip Zip and then plug it into my car radio, will the radio carry it OK, or must the material be in the Clip Zip's memory?

I don't see why it wouldn't. I play music, audiobooks, and podcasts from mSD cards all the time through my iPod's speaker dock. Just choose the "card" menu and not the "music" or "books" menu.

Thanks monkey. I'm thinking about getting a Clip Zip for my car.

For those interested, here's the menu structure of the Clip Zip:
music: Play All - Recently Added - Artists - Albums - Songs - Genres - My Top Rated - Playlists (GoLists) - Folders (Internal Memory - External Card) radio: Add This Preset - Auto Presets - View All Presets (Delete All Presets) - Recording (Record Now - Play Recordings - Delete a Recording) settings: System Settings - Music Options - Audiobook Options - Podcast Options - Radio Options |

Does the Clip Zip have a sleep timer that can be set to automatically turn the device off? I didn't see that mentioned in the User Manual, but I may have overlooked it.

Thanks, Blossom and tubemonkey!
This is one of the few times I wish I had a Costco membership. That's a great deal. I'll be on watch for a good price elsewhere. |

![]() Black Friday is just over 4 months away and there are usually some very good deals on the Clips then. Stores to watch will be Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, and RadioShack. Until then, it doesn't hurt to check these stores every now then. The Clips are currently on a two-year release cycle:

In my experience you can go to the service desk and ask for a free day pass. They charge something like 2-5% extra if you buy anything.

Edit: I just phoned the nearest Costco. I was told that they do not have free day passes. Nonmembers can shop at their pharmacy, etc., but not electronics. Oh well. Last edited by DreamWriter; 07-07-2012 at 06:44 PM. |
