Yes. When it's off and you plug it into the charger it turns the device on, so I turn it off and go to sleep. The red light stays on to indicate it's charging and when I awake, it's fully charged & the red light is off.

This didn't fix my battery problem; reader turned itself off after eight days, which was an improvement but still not right. I tried a tip suggested in another thread to reset the reader while it's connected to the computer. We'll see if that helps.

Just a note: Every T1 reader does turn off after 3 days without usage. But this does not mean an empty battery. It's just a power saving feature.

Have you rooted it? If yes: get BetterBatteryStats from XDA dev and check for the switcher module kernel wake lock as described in the link I posted above.

Ok, but you may still try my suggestion in the thread I posted: after fully charging the reader unplug the charger and power it off and back on. This way I got rid of the 1..2 days battery life issue.

I did try your suggestion and I think it helped but the battery life still isn't what it should be.
