On my phone, I have a Nexus S, which is 16 gigs, and is plenty because I can stream my content. But the Nexus 7 is wifi only, so if you're in an area with no wifi, you're dependent on what content you have locally. For that reason, I'd want an optional SD card.

At first I said ok that is fine. I don't smoke, but then I thought again that there have been a few times I wanted to light a fire with the lighter and also the next owner of the vehicle might want one. Anyway, I got the lighter and stuck it in the glove compartment. You just never know what future requirements will be.

That unused piece of detritus might become more valuable than gold if I were stuck in the middle of nowhere and needed to light a fire.

My Archos 43 has an SD slot and a USB port that uses a regular cable. Sizing is no problem. The small downside to the device is that the 4.3" screen has only 854x480 pixels. Still that is better than my Kindle and looks sharper since the screen is smaller and brighter. I paid $70 for it used from a friend before Christmas vacation in order to have WiFi on a small device where we were going to enjoy warm waters and got a load of extras he had for it. Alas, I think he got an iPad with a super screen, but he is still a friend. Last edited by frahse; 07-03-2012 at 08:10 PM. |

It would be nice to have SD card support, but it's not THAT important to me. Last edited by The Terminator; 07-03-2012 at 10:25 PM.

how many of you have emailed the google nexus 7 support guys to tell them that you'd have bought the tablet had it had an sd card slot? i did email, and they apparently haven't gotten many comments about this so far, so perhaps if everyone contacts them, they may decide that it makes sense to add one. yeah, i know - i'm being an optimist, but it's not like it costs money to send an email... |

I did send in a comment. I hope that it will provide a smokescreen for the main assault.
