http://www.skyoneonline.co.uk/tcom/index.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Col...Magic_(TV_film) As they had a bigger budget then for the Hogfather, the effects and some of the other sequences were quiet a bit better. However, I tend to like the Rincwind from Paul Kirby's drawings, so I did find David Jason as Rincwind a bit unnerving (especially as he had played Albert in the Hogfather, who was the foremost wizard in his time.Hmm, Interesting), but that's a personal preference, as I am not as fond of the first 2 books as I am of his later works. Still it is a fun movie to watch, so a hearty recommendation. It does not unfortunately appear to yet be available on DVD, but should hopefully be so.

Seriously, if you haven't checked it out you really need to grab a copy of it. It is a great book, one of their best. An TV Adaptation of this would be great

It's interesting how people's opinions of the different sub-series vary. I really like the witches stories.

I'm just now about half way through "Equal Rites" which is very good. I don't know when I'll get to "Moviing Pictures." I'll have to see where that is in the publication order.

Moving Pictures was where he started delving into "big picture" (pun intended) themes, rather than just a series of joke set-ups. The series started to show a lot of maturity at that point.

Equal Rights is 3rd and Moving Pictures is 10th. So you do have a ways to go to get there.

Which is the one about the postie? (The Postman or something?) I *loved* that one. I love them all, but that one more so. Moving Pictures too. Oh I'm so envious of you Ricky, to start Discworld all over again....*sigh*
