I use the mSD slot in my SGP all the time. I have separate cards for videos, music, audiobooks, and podcasts. Swapping cards is easier and faster than dealing with the internal storage of my device. |

When away from wifi, the Galaxy Tab has value as a video player because of its card slot; whereas the Nexus 7 is worthless for videos because it lacks a card slot. |

I disagree, for some things, a tablet at home is more convenient than a PC. It obviously depends on what you use the tablet for, but in my case, a couple of scenarios are reading the news while having breakfast, and checking the live timing for F1 races. As a reading device, a tablet is also more convenient than a PC (with the exception of PDFs and technical docs, for which 10" is better, and a PC even better). But saying that a tablet at home is worthless, misses the point.

Well, it looks like I'll have to go retro and use one of these for my video problem.
![]() I still have one that works and still have my DVDs. |

8GB for a device just used for reading plain text books is more than enough. 8GB for a device used for viewing high-def movies is nowhere near enough. I've got a 16GB Nook Color which is never even vaguely close to full, a 64GB iPod Touch which I need to strictly manage to avoid filling up, and a 64GB iPad which I find it pretty easy to load on everything I need. But a 32GB one would be much too small. But then whenever I travel I take a laptop with me as well, so can load more content on if needed. If I was taking long trips without any means of adding to the device, I might find the 64GB too small. |

Just buy the tablet with the size memory you need. If eight not fit your needs then please do not buy eight. Buy bigger and bigger. |

True, while on the move I will be limited to touch screen interface, but if I am able to connect USB keboard, mouse and a (HDMI) monitor, have NAS around for backups... I see no reason why a "tablet" (end game: a phone) should be (I/O) crippled in any way, shape or form. Right now, today. All that is missing is functional integration of already existing software components. For me, it is not about a hacker fanaticism, about "coolness" of running Ubuntu on anything and everything, it is about emerging, generic and truly mobile computing platform. |

Is why companies left it off and consumers still buy them. in volume is BIG money savings. then can sell nexus very cheap with pennies as the profit. In volume many pennies is BIG money.

But the WiFi is in the storage device and in your tablet. That is all you need. So of course you have it if your table have WiFi.

On reason is yo avoid having one more hole in the device were moist can come in. Another reason is that they can use higher quality memory inside and trust it in a way they cannot do if the customer just can plug in any memory. Also if the momory cannot be removed then you can simplify and make the operating system more robust. And so on.
