Is it a matter of time before B&N launch their own imprints?
Yes, B&N has their own imprint in Sterling Publishing (purchased in 2003).
But I was thinking more in the line of Amazon imprints (47North, Thomas & Mercer, Montlake, Encore, Crossing etc...). |

Actually, Barnes & Noble has had a division for making public domain books for a very long while --- mention of it in David Silverman's _Typo_ --- before reading that though, this review of it is about right:
