According this article Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Sony declined the request for an interview about e-reader data. Why? What's the problem if you have nothing to hide?

This in my opinion is bad, very bad...
I would be amazed if Sony is actually capable of collecting ereader data from the reader.

They are very capable to do this. Last month I was thinking to buy a Sony PRS T1 since in Italy there was a very good promotion of this reader but....since I'm quite careful about this kind of things I read the license. In the legal agreement is written " Sony devices can collect all kinds of data and use this information that will be bind only to "unique identifiers in the PRODUCT" (= serial number of the device)".
They claim that they will use this data "only for statistic use" but I don't believe them at all .....in fact I didn't buy the PRS T1
