Not really. Have you ever heard of Maslow's hierarchy of needs? The basic idea is that everyone needs to meet their basic needs first. That's things like food and shelter. Once those needs are met, people move up the hierarchy to fulfil the psychological needs.
Someone who feels insecure about meeting those physical needs are more likely to say money over fame. People who are secure may choose money or fame, depending upon what their psychological needs are. Since people can also plan for the future, they may also seek out a balance between money and fame (i.e. meeting all of their needs). |

I'm not sure if I want to be famous. Too much work and too tiresome. I want to be rich so I can have nice things... On other hand once you are rich you can become famous, but not sure if such fame is really positive...

Option 1: You cannot get all infringers, but having so much not paying readers means iI 'd be able to sue at least a small fraction of them, the gain would be sufficient.

One of my needs is not to get hassled. Autograph and picture hounds would strain even my extraordinary level of patience. If I wanted to be pointed at and told "I can't believe you're here!" I could do it myself. |

Just to be real, the choices are not real.
I prefer to write for money, but would also like to create at at least one enduring poem, essay, story that makes a difference in people's lives. and besides if a billion people buy my book, I'll bet at least one of them reads it. ![]() and I'll also be that at least one of those that got it free would pay-pal money to me. ![]() |

I notice that almost every post in this thread says that they'll take the money, but the votes are even-Stephen.
