From yesterday I believe.
I had a few hours without any update alerts in my inbox, which is very unusual.
I noticed the new "review" layout at the bottom of the story page a while later.

One of the fics I cannot update from FFN today is also posted on TWCS, but when I try to download it (and I have tried all the options, including changing the source path), I get the following message:
Title unknown - Author Unknown - Comment 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'nextSibling"

I have no problem with other TWCS updates, or even with other stories from the same author...
Any suggestions?

ffnet changed their format and removed the html that FFDL was pulling title, summary, published date, updated date, etc from.

I'm working on it. I hope to have a fixed version shortly.

@BaconButty - Your problem is in a different piece of code--I'll look at it too, but not until after the ffnet problem is fixed.

Version 1.5.37 - 28 Jun 2012

Fixes for fanfiction.net's latest changes.

This is a fast release to get it working for people again. I had to change how FFDL collects the title, summary, dates, categories, etc. Keep an eye on the metadata for correctness.

As usual, there may be a delay before calibre notices the new version. You can get the latest by going in and telling calibre to install it again.

So I love the plugin for calibre, but there are certain tags I don't wanted added when updating/adding fanfiction. Specifically, genre and character. Is there any way to keep them from being added without having to edit the plugin-defaults.ini file? It's a bit of a pain to do everytime there's an update. I've searched the thread but didn't find anything that helped.

(really wish ff.net would stop constantly tweaking the site, its getting to be a pain in the arse.)

I don't think you're supposed to edit that. I believe you edit personal.ini. All my personal settings have carried over with numerous Calibre and FFDL updates.

@Linwe - You want to put a include_subject_tags line in your personal.ini configuration with only the metadata fields you want.

You're editing the plugin-defaults.ini file inside the plugin zip?

Why on earth would you do that instead of using the personal.ini tab in the plugin config?

@ilovejedd - yes, i know, but for some reason lovely programs like this don't seem to like me much when I try to do anything personal to them.

@Jimm - well, i tried editing the personal.ini ... and it had no effect whatsoever (or actually, I got double tags in one instance. better not to ask there). It was probably me (progam tweaks + me = something goes wrong) but I'll try again.

One other thing: I was adding a couple of stories from ik-eternal.net and for every story it prompted username & password, and then the confirm adult prompt. And yes, I put in my username & password in the personal.ini. Is it still supposed to prompt for every story?

It's easy to get back to the released version--just go into calibre->Preferences->Get Plugins, switch to the Installed list, choose FFDL, install it again and restart calibre. That would eliminate any issues with tweaks.

The only reason I can think of that the personal.ini tab settings wouldn't work is if you didn't have the settings in a section correctly.

My own [defaults] section looks like the attached. As you can see, leaving out some of the tags is one of the settings I use everyday.

No, it should use the configured user/pass automatically. Are you sure you put them under section heading [www.ik-eternal.net]?

And personally, I put is_adult:true in [defaults] so I don't have to set it for individual sites.
