they’re in an interesting spot here in 2012. Android is the most popular phone OS in the country, by a healthy stretch. Moreover, Android phones have never been more successful. The 2012 crop of phones, running Android 4.0, is every bit as good as an iPhone, albeit with different strengths and weaknesses.

But their tablet business is terrible and unless they try something new, it’s definitely about to get worse.

As a tablet OS, Android has made such a tiny dent in the landscape that it’s on the same footing as a competing tablet that’s just launching this year. And holy cats: Microsoft is launching two new tablets of their own and both of them are running the most popular OS in the world at their cores. If Google doesn’t pull the god-damnedest rabbit out of its hat during one of their two keynotes, it’s going to be time to wonder if Android will ever be of any value whatsoever to tablet users.

I'm predicting that a lot of the talk will be on GoogleTV. It's a fantastic product that has not gotten traction. I own the Revue got one for $99 and think is the next best thing to sliced bread.

VIZIO has just outed a $99 model that has LiveOn pre-installed and is giving away a joystick with their device. So now you get the integrated experience of Neftlix, Cable/Satalite, Amazon Prime and Gaming in one console. (link)


Tablets
Folks are hoping for something new in the tablet space to help grow the tablet. I think they are going to be disappointing. My feeling is Google is just going to release one or two tablets(those rumored) with the Nexus brand.


Chrome
Chances are we will see more on chrome. But I have no clue as to what. Don't know much about chrome and don't really care for the idea behind Chrome.

a couple days ago i was seriously contemplating buying one of those "mk802" android on astick devices to use with my tv. my wife said "wait". best wait ever. an mk802 is @$80 plus if you want a little 'airmouse' type keyboard thing you're out another 30. so you're at 110 at least.

the vizio gtv box is amuch better bargain. remote/keyboard controller plus gtv video streamer plus onlive for 100 and you can get an onlive controller for $50. and we can plug in our usb camera and bam we have video phone on the tv. ill be ordering the day it goes live on the vizio site.
