Finding books on my Motorola Droid Razr
I have the Amazon Kindle app and Mantano Reader on my Motorola Droid Razr. I used calibre to load a book (in mobi format) on to my droid, but neither app can find the book. How do I find my books so I can read them?

For mantano you should probably be using epub. For the kindle app it requires files ina specific folder, I dont recall where, but if you run the welcome wizard in calibre and choose android with kindle app as your device, it will set it up for you.

Yes, for the Kindle app, it's the same directory on my Galaxy Note (Android 2.3.6)

A far as Mantano is concerned, you have more flexibility where you store the books. However, as far as I know it only reads epub and pdf. Once you know where calibre is sending your books, all you have to do is go to Mantano Settings - My Books - Sync folders and enter the phone's directory name you want (I use /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/ebooks). Then after you have sent some new books from calibre, all you need to do is use the Import option on the Mantano main menu. To define which phone directory calibre sends your books to (when using Send-to-device in USB mode), go to calibre Prefs - Plugins - Device Interface - Android - Customize and set your chosen directory at the beginning of the contents of the 'Comma separated list of directories...' box (I use sdcard/external_sd/ebooks).

Personally, I have found that I prefer to use calibre to Save-to-disk to my DropBox ebooks folder, then from the phone use the Android DropBox and DropSync apps to transfer the books wirelessly to my phone's ebook directories.

Thanks - Import was what I needed, and Mantano found my book (Captain Vorpatril's Alliance - yea, Lois!) just fine. I apparently can't import anything into the Amazon app other than via Amazon's cloud, but with the wonders of calibre and Apprentice Alf's friends, that's not an issue for me.

Alas, I can't use Dropbox - I have metered internet, and the download for the Dropbox connection is too much for my daily allotment.
