Thanks, all. I appreciate the support.
Starting out what looks to be a truly rainy, wet, and GRAY day with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, and a big mug of Peet's Major Dickason's. |

I'll raise my glass of Blue to your friend, Charlie. Here's to those we'll meet later on!
"So I'll meet 'im later on At the place where 'e is gone Where it's always double drill and no canteen. 'E'll be squattin' on the coals Givin' drink to poor damned souls, An' I'll get a swig in hell from Gunga Din! Yes, Din! Din! Din! You Lazarushian-leather Gunga Din! Though I've belted you and flayed you, By the livin' Gawd that made you, You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din!" Stitchawl |

It's tough when he was >20 years younger than I. Not really what you'd expect. But there it is, life is neither fair nor predictable. Eriq knew it was a battle he would lose, but he and Anna rose above that and enjoyed the time they had. He was able to go to a couple of conferences during the 16 months of the battle where those of us who knew him were able to both say goodbye, and let him know how much we appreciated him. That helped in many ways, on both sides of the equation.
Meanwhile, enjoyed my first cup of Peet's Major Dickason's in a couple of weeks. Gosh, I'd forgotten how much I love a really good cup of coffee. |

Ooops, amidst all the back and forth, I almost missed a new poster to our little community!
Welcome, Djedefre! This is a friendly place where we encourage even vodka and diet squirt folks. Though don't be surprised if you end up drinking more tea after hanging around here for a while.

Coffee and biscotti and finally giving in to turn on the AC. It is suppose to be 106F today and it is easier to cool down the house if it doesn't get too warm first. No breeze and I really need to finish the pond and mow the lawns.

Welcome, kumaryu. Always good to see new faces here. As for over-chilled beer, I thought that was the point?? (But what do I know, I'm a tea, wine, and single malt drinker, not beer. Even if I am Canadian, eh?)
In my cup: Peet's Pride of the Port. |

I have seen the morning burning golden on the mountains in the skies.Achin' with the feelin' of the freedom of an eagle when she flies. Turnin' on the world the way she smiled upon my soul as I lay dying. Healin' as the colours in the sunshine and the shadows of her eyes. Wakin' in the mornin' to the feelin' of her fingers on my skin. Wipin' out the traces of the people and the places that I've been. Teachin' me that yesterday was something that I never thought of trying. Talkin' of tomorrow and the money, love and time we had to spend. Lovin' her was easier than anything I'll ever do again. ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0J5Uj0B4JM ) Good morning, everyone! It's a peaceful, easy type of morning in the ol' Stich bunkhouse, and there is hot "Assam" tea to go along with the hardtack, jerky, and beans... Let's see... that two grams of fat, 12 grams of protein, 14 grams of carbohydrates... You and Slim round up them strays while I make the gespacho... I seem to have lost contact.... Stich to Earth? Stitchawl calling Earth? Come in, Earth? Stitchawl |

G&T. Had the grandies for a couple of hours and the Bombay Sapphire is slipping down nicely. Now I wish I'd had my kids a 15 so that I'd still be young when the grandchildren arrived.

I'll join you in the Bombay Sapphire.
One of my pet peeves with the ex-pat community in Thailand is just that! Most of the ex-pats are retired men who come to Thailand because you can live like a king on $1000 US a month. Social security and pension money goes a LOT further. But they come there, meet a woman, usually 20-30 years younger than them (age is not an issue with Thai women; being able to have enough money to support them, their families, etc., is,) and get married. First thing they do is have babies. Thais LOVE babies! But the husband is an ROG (Retired Old Guy) 65-70 years old. By the time the baby is 10 and ready to play catch with dad, he's dead or dying... Frankly, it really ticks me off to see these older guys having babies. It's their 'right,' but it's wrong! Stitchawl |

Water, water and more water. My thirst is never ending. It is getting ridiculously hot here. I'm going to have to start going for an afternoon swim and take a nap in the afternoon, I'm much more likely to get work done at night when it is a bit cooler.
