Best,

Indeed, this function has deteriorated and is a firmware error rather than an improvement.
One of the virtues of M92 is that it does an index of books and other readers. What slows down if you store lots of books.
I like the design classic folders older versions of firmware and I think it should be.

So I went back to the previous version of firmware.

again still it is present a bug about .doc documents where all words are italic and about .cbr where the thumbnail is done of the last read page instead of the first one.

I do not have one M92, but a solution to this could be have a classical file explorer and read metadata only for current shown folder once files has been shown as files. Then, for each file with metadata, system will shown those data instead of file names (changing it on the fly), and file names for those that does not have it.

As a second optimization, system could save a intermediate file on each folder containing metadata cache. For each book not touched take metadata from that cache.

How to implement new or change fetures

Booxtor,
Following the filename / author / title problem, my general advice is that when implementing a new feature or changing and old, please put a toggle that people can customize it - to use or not. Now this toggle is firmware up and downgrading.
Best,
A.

I needed a big reader with support for many formats and organization of the library simple and intuitive.
And those requirements fulfilled perfectly the M92. Until today ....

Is not it better a folder management style of a computer?
One of the things I like about the M92 that organization was simple and easy. Without a database to create indexes of books and to slow down the reader. Allowing store your entire library in SD memory reader.

What you propose is to return to the Caliber or similar nuisance and the work that goes with it.
For that would have gone with the DXG.

For my part it will not, if I have to stay with older versions of firmware and support some bugs.

I also don't see the need for putting effort on this.

To me the priority should be on a preferably configurable ``style bar at the bottom - featuring most often used tools and icons'' (quoted from the wishlist).

I see, you are right!
I am sure it is not hard to implement a toggle for switching off this new feature. It will be done ASAP.

Thank you for your understanding.

There is a maximum in my country on computer science: "If something works, do not touch"

The early-morning comfortable for a user is a system of folders and subfolders, where everyone organizes their collections of books to their taste, without the use of databases.

Those who have used the Kindle platform and later the Sony T1, we know from experience the many problems that this system entails.
Besides slowing down the reader when copying many books in memory.
With the classic M92 this did not happen. Had 1,200 books in the M92 and SD reader worked with complete fluency.

I hope the same happens with the i62 when you finally send it to me and I get it.
Precisely this feature, combined its multiformat support, I have decided to purchase.

If you are using Windows, use a PDF editor to change the metadata of a PDF file (In Acrobat Professional and Foxit PhantomPDF it is under the properties menu). For EPUBs I use Calibre to change the metadata. It's painful to go through each PDF and edit the metadata, but I know of no other way to change it - haven't figured out how to get Calibre to export the metadata with the file yet.

Sadly, after some more testing i discovered that there is no change in the power management driver behavior after the last update. Maybe it has something to do with the level to which the battery is charged. Some times the issue with the stopping pen happens more often and some times very rarely, i couldn't really figure out any dependency though...

Calibre can change PDF metadata. You can do it also from the CLI command that comes with it ebook-meta.

This new metadata idea is really really stupid. Onyx, why can't they improve something more important rather than wasting on tiny, unimportant metadata matters? Especially when in the end, they screwed it pretty badly.

Yea! For example, they could try solving the power management issue with the pen!
