Sigh. Just had another customer who wanted to return something he hadn't bought at our store.

We're seeing more and more of this lately. Mostly with products as light switches, electrical outlets, dimmer switches, etc. If you point out that we don't sell the brand they're trying to return or, if we do sell that brand, we don't sell them in blister packaging, which is a typical DIY store packaging, they often get angry and rude.

I think they're trying this for two reasons. First, they have lost/thrown away the receipt and they think we're easier with taking items back without a receipt than the DIY store. And/or they think they can get more money back because they think we're more expensive than a DIY store, which often isn't the case.

We're also seeing an increase in people who buy the same items at a DIY store but don't know how to install them and the shop assistants of those stores don't know either so they come to our store to ask how to do it. Our typical response to that is that we don't know, even if we sell exactly the same itemsl

Crystal is a giant Amazon woman of a dog or maybe a small horse that I adopted from the Animal shelter last September. At that time, she weighed 62 pounds. She currently weighs 85 pounds.

Sorry, but Klingons were using that line long before Humans. Remember, humans are a relatively young species.

OK - I vented before about Goldie & Stella trying to wake me up early on weekends - in sequence. So ... this morning I repulse the first 2 waves and pull the sheet over my head. I've just reached that blissful state of total body relaxation right before going back to sleep when Sammie cat arrives on my rib cage and begins circling in place whilst howling mournfully & continuously.

So - if you're one of those people who sleeps through all alarm clocks, have I got a deal for you! Rent a cat! You'll never oversleep again! Ever!

What's that? Simply close the door? Ha! They will simply hurl themselves against the door whilst howling! In waves .....

Make an offer! No reasonable offer refused! No offer refused!

There is, as a last resort, the spray bottle... Usually one spritz is enough, then just keep the bottle next to the bed so they see it.

I actually keep a can of compressed air (those computer cleaner cans of air) - which work just as well - and DON'T make a mess if I miss!

But they keep coming back while I'm asleep!

While at our video editor's house on Friday I noticed he had a cat. He told me that the Chinese lady who moved in next door asked "Is this your cat"? When he said it was, she said "OK, I no eat it then."
