We still have not made up our minds though... ![]() I like Black Beauty (on paper) and Blacky (as everyday name), it's a rather simple name, but it's easy to say in a positive and friendly way, which is important for dogs... Please keep the suggestions coming...

I like "Buppy". No explanation or reason; it's just a nonsense name that seems like it would suit a dog.

We have some more suggestions of our own...

Benito Benigno Basilio (charakter from Il Barbiere de Siviglia by Rossini) Don Basilio is highly bribable (just like a lab, they do anything for food...^^) and has his very own morals... ![]() This is my favourite scene from the Opera that features him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU5K9pBYPAk At the end of that scene is the famous "Bouna Sera" song that you will hear once and remember for ever... ![]() Here is a better interpretation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckrXwEc2qkY |

Well, today is the day, we'llbe picking him up at two o'clock this afternoon. The name question remains unresolved, but we have agreed to put "Black Magic" in the papers and then see what kind of "everyday name" seems most fitting once we have the dog.

			Hi everybody!

The dog is here, first night went well (no puddles, dog slept all night, I did not... ) and we are getting along quite well.going walkies is still a bit of a problem since everything is new for him and he basically does not want to leave the house. But if can coax him a bit then it works quite well, there are nice tricks to get a puppy to follow you...and we went to the park today and met two other puppy owners and the doggies had a lot of fun. Ours was very scared at first, but he joined in soon enough... We still have a lot of work to do, especially estabilishing a bond with the dog and getting him to walk on the leash, but so far so good. He actually almost knows "sit" already...^^ Oh btw.: His name is now "Bellini" after the composer... |

Aw shucks - too late - I had one more - "Bruno".

But, that's OK - I like opera too. Just better hope he doesn't turn out to be a sleepwalker. |

Blacky/Blackie is a great name for your beautiful pup, CommanderROR. Let me just give you a little advice. Always start with bacon and end with bacon. And lots of belly rubs in between. That's all it takes. Enjoy!

Bruno is a nice name, but a good friend and colleague of mine (and also a big dog-fan, actually planning to get one himself) is called Bruno...and that would have been a bit...strange...^^ |
