I feel rediculous!!

I'm in the middle of rereading In Enemy Hands, Book 7 of the Honor Harrington series by David Weber. I'm so emotionally invested that I'm having trouble finishing because/even though I already know whats going to happen. To make matters worse, I've already read books 8 & 9 as well, so I really know whats going to happen. So why can't I just finish this book!?!

The Remaining by DJ Molles

"In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Some day soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission: SUBVENIRE REFECTUS.

TO RESCUE AND REBUILD."

I just began Water Margin (Outlaws of the Marsh, All Men Are Brothers, etc.) by Shi Nai'an. A BIG read and can't be rushed.

Writing was solid and the story did have a few twists. The detective was completely mystified (like this reader) until the very end although the murderer's identity was the least developed and a bit implausible. Grade C [3 stars].

Next will be some type of sci-fi presently undetermined.

Sometimes that happens in a series. There's one book in the Dana Stabenow series I won't read because I know what happens and I don't like it. In Enemy Hands has some rough spots. You don't HAVE to read it. Just let go and read something later in the series. Really. It's OK.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Everywhere but No Place wasn't turning the pages. I'll come back to it after I finish ALVH, which is proving to be quite good, actually.

I read the first Walking Dead graphic novel on my tablet last night. It was good but. Short. Shorter than American Vampire.

I'm listening to The Lost Gate on audio from the library. The story is up my alley and the reader and production values are good. I only just realized it is an Orson Scott Card book. :P

The movie preview looked pretty good. I have the book. Just need to fix the formatting and load it on my 650 to read. They've used CSS to simulate blockquotes and botched it and it's bad because blockquotes are used in a LOT of places in the book.

Thank you for your support CR. I had to finish the book, though, and I have.... Damn Weber, making me cry...again!

I should get through books 8 & 9 okay...its book 10, War of Honor, that will be the test. I didn't make it all the way through last time due to emotional overload.

This time, however, I'll also have 6 short stories/novellas to read before I even get there, so hopefully those will allow me to take a breath or two.

There sure are a lot of block quotes. They display alright for me, though.

Cool Hugh Howey and Dana Stabenow

The Wool Omnibus Edition was really interesting and engaging. I'd planned to read the 5 parts one at a time but was unable to stop after the first one, so I just kept reading till I'd finished all 5. I enjoyed it a lot and plan to get a copy of the 6th book in the series, First Shift - Legacy.

Now I'm reading Dana Stabenow's 9th Kate Shugak book, Hunter's Moon.

I took it up with exactly the same intention, and have read straight through without stopping (still on Part 3). More of a murder mystery in an unusual setting, rather than the out-and-out sci-fi I was expecting (a good thing), and I will also get Part 6 when I'm done with the Omnibus.

I'm half-way through "The Fellowship of the Ring". I find I like the bit with Tom Bombadil more each time I read it.

And I find that I like the book much more than the film, and that the BBC Radio adaption used an amazingly large amount of verbatim dialogue.
