I purchased the EE for reading PDFs used at my work, to read fiction, the Journal for meetings/conferences, and lastly to surf the internet in the evenings.

I have a PE as well which I travel with.

Thank you Filark and Gunner. It sounds like both of you very much prefer your EEs to your PEs the majority of the time That is what I wanted to know. Now I just need to see if I can manage the purchase in my budget.

This, or one of our two PE's, is likely going to be a gift for a friend. Hmm, have to mull that one over....

Hi, all.

Finally I bought the blue one... about 20 days to receive, here in Brasil.
I was buying the red one, but a problem with the payment (the seller doesn't accepted payments from international cards without confirmed address in US...) made me cancel - better saying, made him cancel the transaction. I think it's the one in your first link from above... I wonder why the difference in the price... the description is exactly the same... same seller...

Any thoughts about it?

Red costs extra!

I just received the blue one from the prior post (fast shipping!) which appears to have also been from that same seller. It's in excellent condition, and was already updated to Froyo. Only problem so far, error trying to add book to library. I am researching. Probably a firmware issue.

P.S. - I think this thread describes the library problem I am experiencing. I may have to go back to Dingo and then come forward:

cool, I'm really interested on getting one, I really like my PE but If i get the bigger one I'll be able to use it to take notes on class.

... really! But it wasn't! First I bought that red one, and the price was the same that of the blue one... don't know what happened...
But there's difference according to the color? In operation, I mean?

Anyway, I can't wait to receive my Edge... I think I'll 'study' the thread you indicate, till there...

I was kidding a little - I just like red! There actually is a cosmetic advantage that the red does not show fingerprints as visibly as the dark blue does. Otherwise I do not believe there should be any difference in the devices based on color.

You know, guada, I use my Pocket to make notes in business meetings for more than a year, now... I make the notes and immediately send it by mail for myself...
I want the Edge for surfing the net, I can't get used to the small screen of the Pocket, for that.

And I read, everyday! Lots and lots of books... I have at least 300 books with me at any time... and Bubble Blast...! I love it!

Just to let you know, I did successfully fix my problem with adding content to the library by reverting to EE Golden Dingo, then updating to Ermine. At that point the library function worked. I also went on to install the Allmine Universal update. A successful procedure! Now on to enjoy exploring.

Actually having it in your hands makes a lot of difference and if you are old, like me, the larger screens help as well.

Let us know what you think after you have had a few days to use it.
