According to The Verge this is NOT Barnes and Nobles' edition of the book, but rather "that the offending ebook is a 99-cent version from Superior Formatting Publishing, who also published the book for Kindle."

I went directly to their web site. They appear to be yet another basement bunch that takes what is freely available at project gutenberg, strip off their license data, and republish using their own metadata.

This is me, reading between their lines
