You should have heard the mickey-taking/leg-pulling/p*ss-taking (this Atlantic divide thing is making me paranoid - and I think all three examples of what I'm trying to say belong to the UK side...) when the news broke that there was a Rooibos scandal - workers had been tramping through fields in their boots, then using said boots to stamp down and crush the Rooibos bushes, and as a result there were traces of cow dung in the Rooibos being shipped to discerning "tea" drinkers the world over. Healthy indeed!

When you have a big big ship, and the insides are filled with grain, do you suppose the Captain creates special toilet facilities for the rats? Exactly who is it that chases away all the bugs that arrive inside the lettuce leaves, or the manure still clinging to the insides of a leek? My grandmother always told us that we would eat a pound of dirt before we die... Mud pies, anyone! Stitchawl |

We spent part of the night in the basement due to tornado warnings. It was fine, nothing touched down in our area and Cooper prefers the basement when there is thunder. It is comfy enough.

ProfCash... you must be close to me... cause you typically post about warnings that are in effect in my area. I am near the I81 in Virgina, a largish town called Lynchburg.
Wish I had a basement! |

Yup I am n the metro DC area.
Homemade limeade. Enjoying it on the deck where it is 70ish and no humidity. Went for a nice walk with the hubby. Watching the dogs play fetch and be silly. Great day. |

Coffee as I work on finishing my lesson for today. This is probably another one our friend Stitchawl would have trouble with since its from Romans 12:17-21

Couldn't do it. Simple as that. If you hit me, I'm going to hit you back harder. I'm just not ... not... I don't even know the word I'm looking for... to be able to just turn away from someone who does me wrong. This goes double for when I see someone else getting treated badly. Maybe it's the "White Knight" syndrome? I don't know... I do know it's gotten me into a LOT of hot water from time to time. Instead, I use the Chinese translation... turning the cheek to dissipate the energy of the strike, and revolving, continuing my momentum for a counter-strike with a spinning heel kick. But I guess that's not strictly in keeping with Romans 12:17-21 Lev. 25:44 states that I can possess slaves. Instead of hitting them, can't I just enslave them? I'm going to pour a glass of Bombay Sapphire and ponder this... Stitchawl |

![]() There is a time for that, for sure. The passage in context is speaking about a personal level, not a corporate level. Next week when I teach on Romans 13 we will talk about "wielding the sword," aka your spinning heel kick. The problem most people get into is they read only "turn the cheek" and not apply the context, nor read the rest of what the Bible says. As Christians we believe we are currently in a spiritual war, so there is definitely an application for a "spinning heel kick," and as I will be getting my black belt in American Freestyle Karate in November... I can actually effectively apply said kick, plus many others.
