The Lightspeed titles are also available as podcasts:
Her Husband's Hands (if anybody cares ![]() Mama, We are Zhenya, Your Son The Old Equations I think the Lightspeed podcasts are usually pretty good, a lot of the stories are read by Stefan Rudnicki. |

I listened to the audiobook of Among Others and really enjoyed it. It was read with a Welsh accent that took a few minutes for me to understand everything she was saying but after I got used to it it was a great performance.
It's a fantasy written as an ode to science fiction. |

I'm one of the people who deeply enjoyed Kij Johnson's The Man Who Bridged the Mist, so I was very pleased to see it win. I was sitting next to Sheila Williams when the winners were announced. It was extremely touching to see, after doing this whole Nebula thing for so many years, how genuinely thrilled she was to see an Asimov's story take the Award. She's deeply invested in her magazine and her authors, as all good editors should be. |

He did have another Andrea Cort novella published last year in Analog, "Hiding Place", which was very good. |

![]() There's a second Andrea Cort novel—The Third Claw of God—that's available (in print and ebook) too. I enjoyed them both quite a bit. The third in the series is only available (has only ever been available) in German—War of the Marionettes. But I hear that Audible bought the rights for all three audio-books, so now that's an option at $7.49 US. I'm still holding out for an ebook/print edition, though. EDIT: Hmmmm... $7.49 directly from Audible.com... $21.83 when going through Amazon. Both are the same unabridged version. ![]() Last edited by DiapDealer; 05-30-2012 at 04:36 PM. |

Another question
Do you prefer the Hugo nominations and winners this year, and why? (OK-two questions). |

EscapePod's sister podcasts target horror and fantasy but some of the stories blend those with SF: PodCastle & PseudoPod StarShipSofa is a true magazine format (short works, longer works, poetry, fact, & editorial; most in each episode) podcast targeting SF. LibriVox has a lot of everything; think Project Gutenberg read aloud. Not podcasts, per se, but simple straight readings of unabridged works. SFF Audio is a review site that frequently has links to selected SF podcasts and audio dramas in addition to reviewing commercial works. I recommend subscribing to their RSS feed. Again not a podcast, Podiobooks is a good source for free audio books in various genres including SF. Most are longer book length works where most podcasts concentrate on short stories and short novellas. Cory Doctorow's podcasts at craphound.com often contain his own readings of his works. Various authors have their works available as podcasts such as Mur Lafferty. My go to place though are the three you mentioned, although SFF Audio is the de facto website to go to for news. (Disclaimer: ex-contributor to SFF Audio.) Edit: I forgot to add Starship Sofa. |

As for Sturz der Marionetten only being available for Kindle as a German translation is indeed weird. Sometimes you just can't fathom what publishers are thinking. |

I haven't listened to The Syndic, but the Wells was a book from Tantor Media they were allowed to podcast, it was pretty good. There's also the Forgotten Classics podcast which you might want to check out. At the moment, they are doing Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart, and their archive can be found here. |
