Target to stop carrying Amazon Kindle

Here are my bulletpoints on this very delicate and important issue:

1. What the hell are all you people talking about? Isn't this a thread about when/if the Kindle goes on clearance at Target?

2. Is the Kindle going on clearance at Target?

3. What do you guys think about gay marriage? Please discuss on the thread I set up entitled "Problem recognizing my Sony PRS-650 in Windows Vista"

No, it's not. It's about Target no longer carrying the Kindle. And if you had actually read through the posts, you would have seen the connection to the ethics discussion:

I was in my local Target tonight, and the display area now looks depressingly barren.

Kindles, Kobos, Sonys and iRivers - all gone.

The only things on display (and in the glass cage underneath) were the Nook family: the Touch, Color, and Tablet.

It's looking more like Target is dumping most of their e-reader category than simply punishing Amazon.

They're going to only carry Nook's and have their mini Apple stores.

I have heard a lot about vista and how microsoft really messed up with that OS (my pals in software development indistry referr to vista as windows 6). Your troubble recognizing your sony may be a problem with windows 6 rather than the sony. i would recommend that you repost this in the sony forums.

i was in target the other day. they had a nice full stock of kindles and kindle supplies. on an endcap for prime sales no less.

On the good news side, I went in a Staples on Memorial Day and right as you went in was a counter with the Fire display all set up and looking good.
Then right to the left of that counter was a set up for the Nook and its display.

I didn't look any further because I was in a hurry and had to go to the back.

Today, there was a parade for wounded Marines, and I was out and decided to try again for an Office Chair we were looking for.
Went into an Office Depot this time, and it was strange. It was just like the Staples store I mentioned up above.

Just to the left as you passed the register counters, on the end caps of the aisle shelves was a Kindle display with accessories. Then over on the next counter to the left of that was an end cap with a Nook display plus accessories. (covers and the like.)

I just looked around briefly and though they may have been back in the aisles, I didn't see mention of Apple.

I did get the Office Chair this time that combined a reduced price floor mat for it.
