It isn't so much "asking" as having "too many" (only Bob knows the exact cutoff) in your hoard. Just give away or trash everything in the hoard and wait a cycle.

I've changed to -50,-50, but I motsly get gifts of Military and just enough Bliss to keep me abovce zero. Hardly any energy. What's taking care of my problem is whacks: Crows take out 20K Population per whack, and I've had the dayglo-plague once. -1M energy now, down from -5M at the worst.

Okay, trying an experiment. Not clearing out the hoard entirely, but making sure I have substantially less than 10 of each type of gift. I'll see if that seems to make a difference.

(Click through leader list; throw something at almost everyone who says they're looking for "all." Reserve high-pop gifts for the higher levels, and the low-number gifts to the lower levels where they actually make a difference.)

I'm about -16M in both

One is still positive bliss, the other needs some super-gifts to recover.

Makes about 32M/cycle.

I can't see why; it'd only take you about 1600 surges, or 400 cycles (assuming 1 surge each cycle goes to Bliss) to catch up. C'mon, you *wanted* to spend the next two months catching up to your population, right? No, wait, long before that you'll be able to jump levels, and get more energy from your reactors. Another couple of days.

Hmmm. I wonder what happens if you leave it alone for a while. Obviously, your bliss loss would be immense, and that costs bucks... but I don't know that it costs pop or food. So maybe letting it sit around would let bucks and bliss drop to zero (level up & grab some allies first, so you're not losing too much) without other bad effects. And when you wanted to pick it back up, a boost of 50M bucks/cycle isn't a bad kickstarter.

But, will also need a LOT more energy, if he levels up. That's what added a million of more to mine (not that it is more than a drop in the bucket to what my deficit is running).

One person is accepting all gifts, no matter what they are - I think his population is over 7M at this point.

Need reactor core multipliers...

I'd say enough crows and plagues would come by to lower population (and other whacks to hurt your other numbers).

Has anyone used the Quit Alliance option? The first alliance I joined was chosen, as prompted by the game, based on my middle initial. It doesn't seem to be a "real" player -- still at level 1, part of several alliances but hasn't joined any, etc.

If there was some low cost way to swap out this alliance for an alliance with one of the MR players I haven't allied with, that would be ideal.

On the other hand, I'm not so bothered by this that I'd just drop the alliance unless there was aome benefit.

From what I've read, quit alliance doesn't change the number of bucks needed for your next alliance, so it's really if you want to not see the 3-4 users that you allied with, not realizing that they aren't actually active.

If you're not reading the notes from Baen's Bar, this should be of interest:

You're welcome. Without making major changes, though, I made some compromises. "All" is now the default; there is no way to request the "All" resource type (that was always an ambiguous request anyway).

Also, everyone gets an extra Hoard gift each cycle. If you request a gift, that extra one will be of the requested type; however, you will still be eligible to receive gifts from other leaders. If you choose not to accept gifts, you will still receive random gifts from the system, including the extra one.

If these prove to be unacceptable compromises, I will need to create a new lookup table for gift resources in the database, along with custom logic. Right now, gifts use the same resource table used by the entire system.

So, if you're low on one thing but not anything else, you might want to request gifts of that particular type.

Very helpful, thanks, particularly the bit about being gifted an item related to you request setting. In in there to add Energy as a request right away!

yeah, my 45-55 million deficit is nothing, these days.

wonder if I should eat up the next few population gifts, instead of trashing them?

doesn't everyone need > 85M population rattling around in that one city core? although, with that many, I suspect they are squeezed together like sardines.
