The rain did that for me. One of the many benefits of living on BC's decidedly misnamed "Sunshine Coast", where the clouds think we are pod persons who need to be watered daily.

I can't figure out why they are offering Halfway Human as their half off deal this week when they offered it for free just back on April 10th and 11th. Usually it's been a book that wasn't already offered for free.

It's their only other title by Gilman and it's been over a month, so people might have missed the previous freebie and be willing to splurge now that HH is apparently out of KDP Select and thus unlikely to be freebied again or be "free" via the Prime Lending Library.

It may not be the most intuitive marketing move, but it does make sense. "Missed it earlier? Catch up for for a discount price!" Although I'd have expected it to go for a greater discount (50% off or more) in consideration of the recent offer.

Ah. Good point. The fact it's only 50% off rather than more might have something to do with their deal with the author I guess. She has to reach a certain amount of sales profit etc. Who knows.
