I have an irrational fear that this is going to happen to me (that I will stop wanting to read pbooks). So I make it a point to read a pbook for every 2 or 3 ebooks I read. I don't want to get out of the habit! And so far, anyway, I crave a pbook after I've read a few ebooks. I realize that some day the print on pbooks will be too small for me, but I would like to put off that day for another 10 or 20 years.

The Agony and the Ecstasy... I recall reading that in a format somewhere between mass-market and trade paperback. The print was tiny and the paper very thin. Definitely would make a better ebook, but it's in that ebook rights black hole (old book, but not nearly old enough to be public domain).

I can!

I appreciate all the advantages that ebooks have but I have absolutely no problem reading a paper book. In a certain way I sometimes prefer paper books, if they are nicely done (layout/fonts...).

All I can say is "Bridget Jones diary, part II" - don't touch it with a stick, whether it's an ebook or paper book. It's awful. I loved the first one though (it's possible I'm actually a girl...)

More on topic, I hate reading paper books now. How are you supposed to eat with one hand and read with the other?
oh goddammit. So not only it's paper, taking up space, and then not worth reading, grrr but the first one, oh my how I laughed.

And... I CAN'T eat without reading, it's just boring and doesn't taste... although would eat spinach without looking if I had my nose in a good book.

I don't mind reading a print book if it's a small paperback, but the trade paperbacks and hardcovers annoy me no end. I like to read in bed, and they're like trying to hold a brick, which is what I've started calling them.

I read both...usually have one of each going at the same time. There are times when I prefer reading from my reader and other times when I prefer reading a p-book. Just depends on my mood.

Press the icon with the double paper (that in the middle of the three buttons) on all quotes you wish to cite, on the last one click the normal "quote" button and they all appear in the field where you can write your answers. You can!

I only own paperbacks and hardbacks of poetry. I can't read poetry on my Nook. Don't know why.

I definitely prefer poetry in hardcopy as well, but really just for the physicality on the bookshelf and my poetry 'library' -- I have no problem reading ebook poetry. and often purchase both hardcopy and ebook.

I read both. Fiction I can usually read as an e-book if available in that format. However, I don't mind reading fiction as p-books. Also, I tend to borrow most books I read so I usually end up reading p-books anyway.

For non-fiction, I still prefer p-books. It's easier to highlight, make notes, and quickly flip to a particular page for reference in a p-book than an e-book.

Unlike the common narrative, poetry sometimes relies upon, or at least greatly benefits from, more precise typesetting. This is hard[er] to do with epubs.

Whenever I see poetry inset in an otherwise narrative epub, it is usually screwed up to greater or lesser degrees. It might look great if my font was set to that epub's default type and size, but it never is. Same can be said for illustrations, tables, and anything 'out of paragraph'.

I admit to not much enjoying poetry, other than that found scribbled on the bathroom stall.

Agree. However, I can't seem to get into poetry while reading on a device. I feel a barrier between me and the author. They're just words.

If I switch to paperback, everything changes.

Odd.

The only dead tree books I buy are non-fiction, cookbooks, knitting books and the like. The reason I started reading ebooks back in the Palm era was because of my arthritis. I continue with ebooks and only read fiction on a screen. My hands are very grateful for the change.

What's funny is that my 14yo will only read dead tree books, says the reading experience is just not the same!

I can not read dead trees. I need a large font for my eyes. I love my kindle and my heart will break if I find book I want to read and it is not an ebook. I would probably go as far as scanning iy if that worked.
