I don't remember where I am in the series.. 12 or 13? I love Repairman Jack, but have most of the series in pbook, which I don't read as often. I need to finish them to see how it ends.

Did you catch the freebie short, The Last Rakosh - a Repairmanjack tale?
http://www.amazon.com/The-Last-Rakos...dp/B0032JTTKS/

Quote:
From amazon - Product Description
Previously available in several different versions through the years (one of which is in the novel ALL THE RAGE) this release has been completely revised to novelette length and incorporates all versions into one for this special publication.

Repairman Jack finds himself at a traveling carnival. During a look through the freak show, he comes across what he believed to be extinct: a Rakosh. Or is it? Jack thought he'd exterminated the vicious creatures. But now, somehow, one appears to have survived. "The Last Rakosh" has all the thrills of a Repairman Jack tale, but shows another side of Jack as he finds himself feeling sympathy for the trapped creature that once tried to kill him.

A companion piece to "The Peabody-Ozymandias Traveling Circus & Oddity Emporium"

Always makes me think of Bernard Cornwell's series. (And excellent series, btw, if you like historical militarism.)

Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett. I've got about ten more other books from the Discworld series to tackle after this one.

I've recently started The revised version of The Keep by F. Paul Wilson. It's the first book in the Adversary Cycle. He's reworked the entire series to bring it more in line with the Repairman Jack series. Once I finish the Adversary Cycle, I'll be working on the Repairman Jack series.

I'm 70 odd pages into Black Wattle Creek by Geoffrey McGeachin .... the second Charlie Berlin mystery.

McGeachin's first Berlin novel (The Diggers Rest Hotel) won the 2011 Ned Kelly Awards (Aus Crime Writers Assoc), and this book is also a cracking read.

I've got a library book copy, but it's also an ebook on Kobo etc.

I just finished reading:

The Mystery of the Yellow Room, Gaston Leroux, a free Kobo DRM free Epub book.
here

this book is considered a classic in the mystery genre and the writing is timeless.

Also, just finished:

The Red House Mystery, AA Milne, a free Kobo DRM free Epub book
here

AA Milne, as you'll probably remember was author of the Winnie the Pooh series. Red House was the only mystery novel he wrote - and I found it very enjoyable.

Enjoy!!

Yes, read that before any of the novels actually, then got a feeling of deja vu when I read the novel that includes pretty much the same story

It ends when...

I breezed through a graphic novel as well, Daytripper. Completely beautiful. 5 stars.
I've been meaning to read Daytripper, I'm glad to see that you enjoyed it.

I'm still reading "The Magus", I think that it will be a slow read as I'm reading other books at the same time as well. I finished the first book in "The Dresden Files". I didn't love it, but there was enough for me to like to get me interested in reading the second book in the series soon. I might check out the TV series as well. I have also started reading "The Angel's Game" by Zafon.

I did enjoy "Shadow of the Wind". I figured that I would like this one, so I've been saving it for a rainy day.

Well, it's a comic novel about a young man forming a comedy group. Some good lines in it. But overall, not really my kind of thing. And I have a vague feeling that I might have read it back in 2005, but if I did it obviously didn't make much of an impression on me then, either.

Next I read Analog SFF, July/August 2012 by Dell Magazine Authors

An excellent issue. I especially liked the Novella "The Conquest of the Air".

And then, as my subscripton had finally come to an end and Fictionwise aren't offering subscriptions any more, with the help of a 40% off weekend code and 15% for a new release, I bought and read Asimov's SF, July 2012 by Dell Magazine Authors.

And it was a very good issue indeed, if not quite as good as this month's Analog.

And most recently I've read Sir Dominic Flandry by Poul Anderson

Three splendid novels and a short story about Dominic Flandrey and his work to put off the "Long Night" that will follow the fall of the Terran Empire.

It would have been better to read it in series order, but even so it was very good indeed.

Next up: Bedlam's Bard by Mercedes Lackey and Ellen Guon

Finally! An ebook release of Summoned to Tourney as the second half of this omnibus.

Yes, I have this on my TBR list, and looking forward to re-reading them.

Meanwhile, I finished Grantville Gazette V. This was a large "Best Of" collection of stories from the Grantville Gazette stories of Eric Flint's Ring of Fire series that begins with 1632, a book in the Baen Free Library.

As with all such Fanzine collections, this was a bit uneven, but really much better than most. I only skipped one story completely, and really enjoyed about 75% of them, with the remaning 25% varying from so-so to OK-but-not-great. Definitely worth the read, and it did move some of the side stories forward.
