Possible solution for full screen images

I've tried to update to the new version and used both methods, but they both failed. Now when I try to launch the viewer, it just drops me to the kindle home screen. No loading of the app at all.

I have the same problem. Accidently deleted 1.5 folder so I have to used 1.6 plain installer. Follow your instruction, reboot kindle a few times but the app could not start.

delete the existing /imagegallery/bin/start.sh and use this one. ( attachment is removed since the problem is fixed )

just changed line ends to unix format using programmer's notepad ( again )

pookakitten and Ilogis ... This is a classic case of CRs occuring during extraction in the "start.sh" file
Extract the modified attachment of the start script and place it in the bin folder of image gallery app...

Hope this compression doesn't screw it up !

I should have fixed the problem, thanks to Thomass and Deep...I always forget about that problem, mostly because I can use it flawlessly in my Kindle!

I thought about making a kindlet since v1.5.
I know java is the way but, being half electronic and half energetic engineer, I have been taught only a few about it!

What scares me is the gui part: here, at University, they teached us only to use java&shell (system.out.println...) and to read/write to txt!
They also teached us assembler....but I don't think it would be usefull with this!

In the end, I did know something about programming (basically loops and variables declaration) but I don't know where to start to recode this in java.

As I should graduate in a few months (and I'll have more spare time), I promise to investigate this!

Kindlet is the solution to most of the problems I have, so I shouldn't always find a workaround and this really attracts me!

Wow, thanks for this huge update! Really great work! I noticed you added a feature to increase/decrease scrolling in landscape mode - is it possible to use it also in normal mode with an increased image? And maybe even possible to increase / decrease in 1-5 steps, maybe scrolling 10 % to 50 % of the whole image? I should take a look at your code, hopefully I can find it. Once again, thx for making comic reading possible!

I can obviously change the "adjust scroll" menu to add 5 steps scroll in landscape mode!

But I don't get why adding such a thing to portrait mode: I added arrows when increasing image size. They scroll up/down/left/right by 200px: I could increase this, if you prefer.

You can, anyway, use swipe gesture to scroll.

Image resizing (just like rotate function in portrait mode) is intended to be a "one-shot": if you feel the needing of it more than a few times, I'd suggest to use landscape mode or resize images on your PC.

Let me know what do you think!

I forgot to reply at your question!
"built-in files renamer" would be, in my opinion, a new entry in the launcher menu (Image Gallery will have a submenu with two entries: Image Gallery and File Renamer).
It will rename all files in /documents/Gallery subfolders according to the necessary pattern (0, 1, 2....)

So that is different than being able to adapt to leading zeroes? Mangle adds leading zeroes and I'd prefer to use it to put my manga on the kindle since it numbers files automatically and resizes images and makes them easier to read. (IMO, that is)

Actually, you`re right about this one, as long as one can switch to landscape mode, you do not really need this in portrait.

The pinch-to-zoom function would be very nice, I see you planned this for the next update?

For now, I`m really thankful for the new version, it really changed the comic experience on the touch!

I've had a chance to experiment and when I tried the rotate function, it made me have to scroll the image--can the default behavior for this have the image fill up the screen w/o the need to scroll?

I have another suggestion--the ability to delete the contents of a folder. Put it in the reading menu so users can delete chapters after reading.

File renamer is, to be honest, last on my list.
Here are some reasons:
- I hope Amazon will release a better image viewer ==> my app will be forgotten
- I will try to turn this app into a Kindlet ==> no need to rename files again
- the internet is full of batch renamers

I don't use Mangle, so I don't know how it works. Anyway, you can always rename files before using my app.

I could support 001, even 00000. But....is it really worth the effort? Batch renaming takes about 10sec per folder...

If you really want to use ONLY 00* files, edit in notepad both JS files and replace all 0.jpg/0.png with 000.jpg/000.png or whatever you want to read!

I have another suggestion--the ability to delete the contents of a folder. Put it in the reading menu so users can delete chapters after reading.

Filling up the screen means displaying the image in 800*572, and this may result in squeezing the image.
That's because I use image height>screen size in landscape mode.

As regards the deleting feature, as stated many times before, I can't directly access files from a WAF, so that I can't delete files or folders.
If I could, I would have made this app even better!
And this is what really push me towards kindlets.
