elf wreck. Pocketbook lets you organize with multi-level folders AND has a "favorites" section. in "favorites" you can re arrange all of those books in other ways , its basically tagging. it can all be done on device or sitting at the comp with device plugged in. so you can have your regular folder for genre scifi and a favorites folder dubbed fan fic and folder in it dubbed star trek. each way is searchable

Rupert Murdock must not have found a reader their "news" crew could hack. Everything must be put in perspective. The source is part of that perspective. When the source is "yellow" what are you viewing it through?

More memory and audio for the Touch-less Kindle. I'm not particularly impressed with touch on either the KT or the T1. And my tests with the STO were no better. I do like the paging buttons of the basic Kindle, though. Last edited by fjtorres; 05-20-2012 at 02:42 PM. |

Hadn't noticed this thread was about fox news, rupert murdock, or phone tapping. Thought it was about whether this was a good time to buy an e-reader.

To be perfectly fair... Fox News is included in the title of the thread (somewhat luridly), so it's not outrageous that people would give their opinions on the source of said news. But that doesn't mean the thread has to devolve into the typical right/left, political fuster-cluck either.

It kind of is. And when people wander off as they have here, the threads get uninteresting (and locked). People stop following because whatever interesting discussion may follow has to be culled from the off topic comments. The thread is about whether or not it is a good time to buy an ereader NOT about fox news, rupert murcock, or bias in the media.

Given the thread's topic, it's only foolish to buy now if you know that soon a new version/different model is going to come out. For example, don't buy a Sony Reader in September as October will be a new model. Then you can decide if you want the previous model (if it can be found) or the new model. For example, if you wanted a T1, then get one now as it's about 4.5 months until a new model.

LAPTOP itself has the offending article: http://blog.laptopmag.com/10-gadgets...-buy-right-now As does LiveScience.com: http://www.livescience.com/20409-10-...adline+Feed%29 As does Yahoo: http://news.yahoo.com/10-gadgets-d-f...185446098.html My advice to cassidym: In the future, avoid picking up items from web sites with a strong political reputation. Instead, use google to find an identical, or similar, item from a source that is, or at least seems to be, politically neutral. Having said that, I agree with everyone that the OP article is mistaken. Last edited by SteveEisenberg; 05-20-2012 at 08:27 PM. | |
