There is a new horn on the market (I just read about it but can't find the link right now) that gives you a 2 second 'regular' horn blast but if you hold the button down, becomes a 130db emergency vehicle type warbling sound that is impossible to ignore! 130db is much louder than a jet engine taking off...

Price was about $80 if I remember correctly. I've been trying to find this link again as I really do want to order one for the bike and one for the car.

Ugh. Why is there often a $4.12 markup on Random House e-books for Canadian customers at Amazon now?

For sale: Kindle 3. Good condition. Used a bit, but not that much over the last few months.

Its typical. Was heading out yesterday afternoon, and the key fob would not unlock the doors of my 2004 Toyota Matrix. Then of course, my key would not unlock the doors either (I think my key might be a bit worn).

Called the wife who was at home, and I knew her key fob would not work (battery had died some years back and though I changed it, it didn't work). Luckily her key did work.

So changed keys and off I went.

Picked up some new batteries later on, and changed them, following instructions. (Shock.. I read instructions). Nothing to it; just open fob, put new battery in, close fob.

Still no go

Seeing I still had the snow tires on the car, decided to go to the dealer, get the tires changed and the keys fixed.

TaDa... key fobs now all work, tires changed, and, a small leak in an seal on the engine fixed.

Why oh why, doesn't the simple change battery process work!

I did find a document on the web that had a procedure for resyncing the key fobs; something along the lines of close all doors; open drivers door; turn ignition key five times while standing on head; close door; do the hokey pokey; pray...

I loved that part.

I'm glad it all was solved in the end.

Well, I was stuck for about three days with a series of people that purchased one of our website packages and had no idea what they were doing, which is cool, not that big of an issue, but wanted to explain why it tool me so long to get back to the "green light district."

In regards to my previous post, I had a dream, it was an awesome dream, children were playing in the park and birds were singing and those freaks started moving when the light changed. It was glorious and filled with a quiet peace that can only be found when the schmucks in front of you actually find the gas pedal.

The funny thing about these people down here is that they will actually be jumpy on the pedal when the light is still red, all ready and raring to go and then will just sit there when it changes. Let me catch some people before they say something, I know that the proper driving technique is to pause briefly before going at a green light to ensure that the other drivers have stopped, but my perspective is from my perspective and therefore completely and totally self-absorbed.

From my very own private world where I am the only one that matters, my mind utters an entire speech regarding how other people are constantly getting in the way of me and my personal itinerary. I know that it is entirely selfish, that is why I keep it in my mind, but what if these things slipped out? What if I actually spoke aloud how that damn ambulance is slowing me down on my way to Starbucks. Can these people not injure themselves a few minutes earlier or later and have the common courtesy to hold off on calling 911 until I have completely my trip. Seriously? How bad could it really hurt? People lose a hand everyday.

I hope everyone knows that I am not being serious and I hope that everyone makes it through life without the need to dial 911 or any major injuries. There are times, though, when a cop car or a fire truck get in the way and I cuss out loud, isn't what I just said above the logical next step in my frustration.

Not to put a dampener on it, but... yesterday the motorway near me was closed off, and the first mile of my 60 mile journey took me three quarters of an hour as a result, making me half an hour late for a meeting. I was naturally cursing the idiots who caused the accident.

Just found out 5 minutes ago that someone jumped off the bridge onto the motorway, causing the crash.

Yeah, I've seen these people. I don't understand them either! They sit there even longer than it takes to look for people crossing on the red. Sheesh!

Looking after my friends' dog Luca again until Friday. Today is the first time I'm having problems with her. At home she's all nice and cuddly but when walking she is aggressive towards other dogs. She doesn't bark but she wants to go at them like crazy. She didn't do this when I looked after her during the weekend or two weeks ago, she was interested in other dogs and tried to keep an eye on them but that was all. After googling I suspect it's because she is going out of heat at the moment, at least I hope it is and not some new thing of hers.

Combined with the fact that until just of three weeks ago she hardly was ever got walked on the leash (she was let out into the garden each morning until evening) it makes walking her an ordeal. Normally I like walking with her but now I let her do her business and go back home because I'm afraid she might get away from me and since she doesn't understand the dangers of roads and cars I'm afraid something might happen.

Now she's all nice and sweet again, trying to climb onto my lap, which must look funny since she's a Belgian Sheppard and not a small lap dog.

I hope for her sake my friends will take her to the vet soon to het her fixed/helped quickly.

When Peanut is in season she gets all cuddly, and carries her babies (stuffed toys) around the house, and builds nests all over the house.

And this is why dogs should be spayed and neutered. Ignoring the number of dogs that are killed each year because there are not enough homes for them, there are behavioral issues associated with dogs left whole. Unles you are breeding a pure breed, get your dog fixed.

And then we have something like ten people running the left hand turn light because it took them forever to move in the first place. We must live in a different time space continuum.

I totally agree with you. I know my friends are planning to get her helped but between them planning something and actually doing it might be some time. Luca doesn't like the pants she has to wear when in season and, when no one is around, tears them apart. This makes a mess and I know the wife doesn't like messes, so hopefully that'll motivate them to go to the vet.

Today and tomorrow morning my tactic is going for walks at times when not a lot of people walk their dog and only go for short walks.

My rant for today:
I bought a bath ballistic at the new Lush store in town. My friends have a big bath which I had never tried out and with Lush in town it was a good excuse to do so. I picked out the Dragon's Egg ballistic and when the shop assistant told me it had a "nice surprise" I thought he meant that it changes colour. But not only does it do that it also contains glitter, lots of glitter. So, last night after my bath I spend over half an hour deglittering myself in the shower and just now I have (hopefully) deglittered the bathroom. My washcloth and towel are currently deglittering in the washing machine.

Lesson:
Next time ask if the bath bomb/bath melt/bubble bar contains glitter before purchasing.
