OK, I spoke too soon. I put some new files onto the kindle and the plugin plus the launcher app put them in the correct collection, but they remain on the home screen, too. Is this what it's doing for you? |

So I got this to work just fine, although a couple small problems: -Sometimes when going to CollectionsDB in the launcher, the submenu doesn't appear, and requires a device restart to make it show up. -When using the verbose version of creating Calibre input, nothing shows up. |

Thanks for this. Will it work on the KSO, non touch? I am getting a new kindle from amazon in the mail to replace my damaged one, and really dont want to have to put 200 books into collections again! |

I don't think so. I believe the Touch and the NT are completely different but I cannot say for certain.

I think for the NT models, all you need is the kindle collections plugin for calibre.

Thanks, I realized that actually just after I posted. When I first got my K4 around christmas I couldn't get the plugin to work for some reason, probably because I never saw that other thread about it with instructions.

I tried my best to follow you directions for my Kindle Touch.. When I "Import data and reboot" from the Collection DB launcher menu on the KT, it does its thing and reboots, but I still have 0 collections. If I run the (verbose) option, I see: Process collection blah blah delete empty collection over and over again.. so it is like it sees the Calibre Collection plugin file just fine, but while it is processing it it can't seem to find the books the collection is pointing at.. Any thoughts? |

If the directory (folder) extensions does not exist, if the unpacking of the zip file does not create it, you can create it.

Now the root of what you see is what the above referred to as /mnt/us Just mentally sub-string out those characters from the directions. Edit: For those who want the technical details, open: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/li...ux-filesystem/ Then read it three times, the first time as written, then for: /dev/loop0 /mnt/point1 Substitute: /dev/mmcblk0p3 /var/local And the third time, substitute: /dev/mmcblk0p4 /mnt/us Last edited by knc1; 06-18-2012 at 09:37 AM.
