I was phenomenally lucky with both of mine. I was an active duty soldier with the first one and alone and in a foreign country. I learned an awful lot by shear intuition and inventiveness. I DID sleep with both babies and breastfed both. I had several healthcare professionals tell me with both babies that they had never seen more relaxed babies.

my ex-husband had sent me some old pictures awhile back which I just recently stumbled on again. I am in the process of making a scrapbook for my son and have been wrestling with the scanner at work... this is at 3 days old in the forest behind my house in Germany
