Cheap: One day 50% off sale at Angry Robot Books (epub)

Spotted this on twitter.

Angry Robot Books is having a one day sale today, 50% off anything in their catalog.

Files in epub format, with instructions on site for loading to Kobo, iPad, or Nook. Not suitable for Kindle.

I just bought Blackbirds by Chuck Wending using this deal. The conversion rates seemed to vary throughout, but in the end I got charged $3.11 (it currently sells for $6.01 on Kindle), paid via PayPal. Note: a lot of this publisher's catalog sells for $2.99 on Amazon (i.e., Zoo City by Lauren Beukes) or is sometimes available on Kobo and coupon eligible, so this sale is in particular good for any of their their non-discounted titles.

Sale runs until noon on Saturday, May 5th (an I assume that's noon in England, not US).

I've personally read and enjoyed Aliette de Bodard's Aztec mysteries (starts with Servant of the Underworld). I'd bought Lavie Tidhar's The Bookman previously or might have picked it up this time (not read yet). Dead Harvest by Chris Holm also tends to get pretty good reviews, and I've got a friend who really enjoyed Embedded by Dan Abnett.

Thank you! I hadn't heard of Angry Robot before, but it looks like they have some interesting stuff.
I started out with both titles by Matthew Hughes, based on the reviews and the covers.

DRM-Free.

I never have a problem with their books on Kindle.

Thanks. Easy conversion with Calibre, I expect. I was just parroting Angry Robot's website, as I don't own a Kindle myself.

With the DRMFREE entered in as a coupon code. Note: have everything added to your cart before applying the coupon code and it will work on everythign in the cart.

This works on magazine subscriptions (ie., Clarkesworld, Lightspeed, Apex)!

Thanks for the heads-up regarding the Angry Robot and Weightless Books sales.

I think I'll just limit my AR purchases to the 2011 Ditmar Award books ,which are already 1/2 off and the coupon stacks on top, and maybe an omnibus. I figure Angry Robot's given out freebies in the past and a few bucks to try out their award-nominees is well spent.

The other stuff which looked interesting is slated for upcoming omnibus, or it's by authors I'm unfamiliar with and I don't have time to read all the samples and do comparison pricing/availability checks in the hour before the 50% presumably expires, so I'll just put on a wishlist to try later and hope they have another such sale in the future (forum search says they did last year).

I'm a bit annoyed at Small Beer Press, who apparently run Weightless, as it seems they've yanked their entire catalogue from Fictionwise, screwing up my wishlist, which always makes me paranoid.

But it turns out they have Subterranean Press books which are normally not available to Canadians via the usual stores, and if it turns out they're saleable to my region, then it's a sweet deal and more than makes up for SP's disappearance from the Baen store last year.

And they've a new collection of Nancy Kress stories. Just wish they offered multi-format bundles instead of making you pick a format, which is silly.
