This is a bilingual French-English version of one of Alexandre Dumas’ best known books with interlinked French and English sentences. I.e., if you cannot figure out a particular French sentence, you can click on the hyperlink at the beginning of the sentence to jump to the corresponding English translation.

It's not pretty, but it works.

Thank you very much! This is not a bad concept at all. As long as e-readers do not support opening two books side-by-side, this is probably the next best solution.

How did you create this? Did you use some sort of tool to get all those hyperlinks in?

Actually, it wasn't my idea. Jellby came up with it first in his multilingual Divine Comedy version.

I used a very simple VB script that generated the ePub source files from a tab delimited text file with sentence pairs.

That's the tricky and most time-consuming part. You need to segment both source and target texts and then align the segments (=sentences.) Andreas Farkas' Hunalign wrapper LT Aligner automates most of the process, but it's not for the faint of heart.
There are also a couple of commercial aligners for example, Abbyy Aligner.

Thanks again. I was afraid that it would be time-consuming. I'd like to have some of the great Russian 19th-century novels in this format. So now it's up to me to find the time and courage to undertake this project...
