Error JAVA NET socket timeout

Hello,

First time post here. I am using Sunrise, and getting fairly good performance out of it. But I have two problems.

1) When I have a web address that is two layers deep, that I am converting to a sunrise document, sometimes the response from the web site is too slow. Then I get a error java net socket timeout message. Eventually the whole process of creating a sunrise document will fail. I am wondering why sunrise does not just skip over these web pages, until it completes, and then go back. Or just skip them and not go back, with no failure of the document?

2) The second problem is the synchronise process. I dumped the old versions of my Sunrise-plucker document directly from my palm. Then I go to re-sync, and nothing happens. No synchronise happens. I suppose the sunrise document has to change in someway, before a synchronise will work?

If Sunrise can't fetch the starting page the entire conversion will fail, since it doesn't have any more links to fetch. Before it can move deeper into the site, it has to extract links from the starting page.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Documents have to be scheduled for them to be synchronised automatically through the HotSync conduit. If you want a document to be updated every time you perform a HotSync, simply set its schedule to "Always".

Okay. It just took some more experimenting with settings on my part. I changed some of the settings (or put them back the way they are supposed to be) on the ADVANCED page, and that seemed to make things work correctly. I think I had turned off the ability to get through broken LINKS.

Is it possible to get a FACTORY DEFAULT optimized settings listing? That way if I change something that will likely cause problems with functions, I can go back to the factory default.

Got the hotsync to work, per your advise. Thanks!!

Any word on when your commercial version will be out? Given the poor trend of the PALM platform, I am just glad that you are still doing development on this. I tried the FIREVIEWER competing software product, and that was a complete waste of my time. The viewer itself works great, but the page conversion software fails.
