If B&N and others refuse to sell Amazon published books, why is it Amazon's fault that these are only available on Amazon?

Hmm, is that much of an issue?
I see lots of agitated presumed Bond lovers deploring the issue, but the only thing it makes me think of is that I was the only one I knew who wanted to spend 2$ on the widely available paperback Bond books back in 1980 (And that was the standard publishing price, not anyhow discounted). Everybody else was not very interested, as they *are* quite different from the movies. They are regular thrillers with "normal" cases like murders, he does *not* get to save the world everytime he picks up his gun, like in the movies. Also, there's significantly less sex - So why the sudden interest? Best regards, Andy |

If push came to shove, I would just buy them and use the tools available to make them readable on my particular reader.
Luckily I have them all in DTB, include the more obscure non-fiction titles. |

If I want an e-book badly enough and it is available at BN only, I'll buy it from BN, strip the DRM and convert it to Mobi. No problem. |

Don't worry folks. Jeff Bezos will probably go on such a long tirade about his plans for total global domination that Bond will have plenty of time to escape.

There's a difference between 'need' and 'want'.

One thing that I don't think anyone's mentioned: Random House have got the 10-year licence for the UK rights (I think it was Penguin who had it before?).
