None of the other books came out of left field like this one! Can I say that I'm "loving" his reaction. I don't blame him one bit...I do worry though where it will lead. One of the biggest spoilers was already reveled to me weeks ago, (I actually thought it would happen in Turn Coat) but I have been very careful not to read the hows or whys. Just started Dead Beat, for the second time. Does anyone else have the Kindle version? Is your TOC missing? Mine isn't working and this is the first time I've actually needed it. I'm switching between my blackberry and Kindle and can't sync since I'm Canadian so I use the TOC to get to the last place I was in.

My MOBI copy has a working TOC. Unsure as to where it originally came from, Amazon, Kobo (the old Borders) or B&N probably.

Did I mention, that I don't trust Marvin as far as I can throw him?? His pessimistic, antagonistic, and oddly aloof/cold behavior has had my early-warning alarm bells ringing nonstop! [/rant]

I'm assuming Molly & family will take care of Mister & Mouse. Maybe Harry tells them how to get Bob, maybe not. I know he's going to get through this some how because he has a daughter to save .. Because of all this hype about the Dresden Files I decided to give it a try!
With Kobo's 90% discount coupon I bought the Dresden Files Collection 1-6.

After browsing through the reviews it seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it story.
I heard rumors that the first book is not giving justice to the whole series, is this true?

For some it does, for others it doesn't. If you're one of the latter though do keep in mind when reading Storm Front that it was a college project where Butcher set out to prove his writing professor wrong and though he was wrong (about his professor being wrong) it got published anyway.

Have you read it yet?

If you liked it, you will like the whole series -- it continues to surprise, and to change. I like some story lines and antagonists better than others, but that's okay because the old ones tend to come back when least expected and there's always something new around the next corner.

If you didn't like it, you might still like the series. You'll meet new and continuing protagonists along the way, and it has been said that Butcher's writing improves from one book to the next.
