1. The castings made in the H-D foundry were all destroyed when used. H-D was the single largest supplier of these to the Allied forces.

2. Virtually ALL fresh foods (rather than Popes) are transported in these.

Ordinance is a ruling or decree, while ordnance is military supplies. Ordnance is also related to very good maps of Britain.

Though that's a "what" rather than a "why"!

Yes. If only everyone understood the difference, then my dad would stop worrying. My brother would like everyone to stop honing in on things (a la Dennis Lehane). And I wish people would stop buying things they already have or bringing things at the shops. enough! Hey isn't it a little late in NZ? Daylight savings ended? Only a quarter to 11? Way past my bedtime ( well only 8.45pm here and Miss Fisher's mysteries are on).
