I checked it several times, and I was in the letter keyboard that has no comma. At least on mine. :-)

Any way to turn autocorrect off? Anyhow, it was not causing havoc on my email address or password, so I am mystified.

No, Internet Explorer just doesn't use the standards because they use their own backend. So when we code websites, everything works fine in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Dolphin, Silk, ICS default browser, but then you open up IE and BOOM! One little problem that makes your website look horrible.

Just look at any website's code, and you'll ALWAYS see notes about fixing stuff to look better. Even Amazon's site has specific things for IE in their code.

I personally do use Internet Explorer myself when I'm on a Windows machine, and I know it's still heavily used by many others. However, you have to understand that in order to make the experience good on it, most designers and developers have had to pull their hair out working extra hours or days just to fix it.

IE9 has the best support for HTML5. They can use that. Any way I've deleted the app. The Send to Kindle bookmarklet works better anyway. No app needed.

Everyone I know uses either Chrome or Firefox. It's not the first time though MS has claimed IE was the popular choice. Why any one want to use IE is beyond me. You can't trust the statistics either. This is so true! One of the reasons I went with content managers and gave up trying to please them all. IE9 breaks half the sites I visit.

I don't think the numbers are juiced, Blossom - I think you're discounting all the business users and regular folk in making your assessment. I work at a place with 10,000 employees+, and we can't even install Firefox or Chrome on our machines. As far as the general population goes, although you're tech savvy, and a lot of your friends may be, you may not be representative of the population at large.

I couldn't even get IE9 to function long enough to download something else on a laptop. I had to go back to IE 8 and then do it.

I still prefer InstaPaper's feature that will send a webpage's content straight to my Kindle with one click. Unfortunately there's no official Android app for IP.

The company I work for, with 20+K employees does not allow any browsers except IE. AND, if I ask most of my co-workers what browser they use on their home computers the usual answer is "What's a browser?"/

That is very true. They says on weekends the browsers statistics change drastically. I do think IE is the most used browser at work because there is no other choice so you can't really get a true results what browsers is the people's choice because of that. My hubby has to use it for school but he uses Chrome for everything else.

Microsoft accused a internet statistic company of juicing the numbers when Chrome overtook IE last month. So I don't who to trust on that.

Yes as a techy person I loath IE9.

I have been using computers since 1981 and when Windows 1.0 came along, as a DOS nut, I hated that, as well as every iteration of that OS. However, I succumbed as more and more good programs required it. If I were not so immersed in Windows (XP is as far as I will go), I'd go to Linux, but there you are.

I was ecstatic when Mozilla came along with a browser, and have never used IE since, except for a couple of idiotic developers that require it. Including, of course, MS which makes me use it for Win updates.

Things have changed drastically since the "old days" of computers when we were all tech phreaks. Now, computers are just a tool, which is OK, but the vast majority of users are pretty dense when it comes to the machines. Thus, the infuriating IE.

That sounds like a problem with your computer. Maybe you need to reinstall. I've never had any problems using IE.
