cannot connect to server
Hi All,
I have a Pocketbook pro 903, and I am having problems connecting to the calibre server. If I put my IP address in the browser of my ebook reader with the standard 8080 port I get an error message (cannot load page). I tried port 8787 with the same results. Finally I tried port 80 (mind you, I really do not know what I am doing), and what I get is that "80" is dropped by the webadress, and I get to a window welcoming me to my wireless router configuration page. Does this mean I cannot connect two devices running on the same wifi network, or am I doing something wrong? (I am trying to conenct this way as I have problems with the USB cable) |

open a command prompt (some call it a DOS Box): Type ipconfig /all and tap enter. look for the section Ethernet adapter (there may be more than 1 section) that is the IP you want the port must match what is set in Calibre. You mus STOP the Start the server if you change the PORT 192.168.0.7:8080 is My Calibre server. 192.168.0.11:8081 is my Wife's Library (of TN's )

theducks,
thanks a lot, but it is not working ("loading page failed"), or maybe it is me. I did as you sugested, and got two sections with Ethernet, of which only one had something looking like a recognizable IP address (169.254.16.176), under "Autoconfigurations IPv4 Address". There is also other stuff, that looks like hexadecimal (see attached screenshot). Any ideas? Many thanks! |

I think you need to scroll back just a tad on that ipconfig output; I think there is another adapter there with another IP V4 address associated with it.
