This. Gave up reading the full article half-way through. I have no doubt that iOS is generating more app sales and for developers, it's much easier to build iOS apps given there's fewer hardware and less compatibility issues to contend with. However, that article just reeks of bias.

One thing I have noticed is that on Google Play, you often have the option of getting an app in a free (demo, limited functionality, or ad-supported) version, and a paid full version. On the Apple store, more than likely you will have to pay for any app.
With my new HTC View, I've been looking at different apps that use the stylus, including cad and vector drawing apps. I got about 20 or so different apps to try out, and ending up spending about $20 for the ones I really liked. In the Apple world, you would probably spend $50-100 to do the same thing. |

Article may have come from Macworld, but it's not the only article on the interwebs that discusses the same point. Fact is that google needs to get its shit together & make android a little more consistent & "locked down" so to speak.

Quite frankly, most things that come from fanzines like Macworld is either pure propaganda, or so heavily biased they should come with a mental health warning. That doesn't just apply to Apple fanzines of course, although they tend to be the most rabid ones.

But at least it's consistent. You wouldn't know that though. |

I don't know what you mean by locked down. I'm not locked down with ios. My statement refers to the fact that google needs to keep oems in better check rather than android being the OS whore.

I chose windows mobile 6 phone over iphone 3g as I felt it did not allow me to do things I wanted 4 years ago. To me it was my greatest tech purchase although I was sometime envious of some of my friends with iphones. But because of that purchase I never got locked down into iOS or became an Apple fanboy ![]() |
