				Toshiba Releasing a 13" tablet

I've heard often enough, from folks here on mobileread looking for 11"+ tablet, well Toshiba has answered those request and more by offering a 13" tablet. At first I didn't think too much of the 13" tablet, considering 7" tablet is my preferred form factor. However since most bloggers are bashing the 13" tablet I'm thinking this might become a hit--considering bloggers are new "movie critics". Toshiba's gamble here is based on the studies that have 85-90% of the tablet users using tablets at home, and 85% of those while watching TV. Below are the specs. I believe the starting price for the 13" tablet is $649. Quote:

That is a very high price. Like a Laptop. But the machine is a real screamer. 4 speakers! |

That's pretty big. The iPad and similar sized tablets are reasonably comfortable and easy to hold and use. I wonder if the increased size would make it unwieldy.

Well, grab an old long metal flapped clipboard and a legal pad and see. Maybe weight it down with a few magnets. It isn't like this has dimensions that haven't been used in business since the nineteen twenties.

Yes, but with a different screen technology. A 13" tablet would be something for Windows 8 with Intel processor, but Android? Android would only make sense if it was pure e-reader with color e-ink screen. This should be a computer substitute.

At least this particular model just has a regular IPS LCD screen. Yes, something with that new flexible screen would be great. Don't hold your breath, though.
