Two things could be better on my phone:
- after some time, one or two hours, the app is closed, I suppose by the android OS.
Restarting it brings me back at the main menu, but 9 times out of 10 I want to continu reading the book I was reading, so it would be great if Mantano on startup would just continu where it was left, or, perhaps even better, make it an option: on start go to main menu/book last read.
- on my Note the steps between fontsizes feel slightly too large, more fontsizes would be great.

Apologies if this has been said before, reading al 50+ pages of this threat, mostly referring to now obsolete versions of the app was not an attractive option.
I am also a recent owner of a Samsung Galaxy Note and so far Mantano is my favourite reading app. I have not experienced Mantano shutting down on me at all, however I don't read on the phone for extended periods.

I have found it useful that I am able to set a shortcut icon on the home sceen to my current book(s) with current position.
Long-press on homescreen - Shortcuts - Mantano - choose book

Or if you prefer, Mantano Settings - Notification to access your last read book from the Notification bar.

By the way, I agree with you that the steps between font-sizes are a bit too large.

If so, does it know that it's a registered version? Or do you have to uninstall the old one first? Presumably you don't have to pay for it on each update.
Good question. I have reinstalled a few times lately so it hasn't come up for me yet. But I can't find anything regards updates apart from setting it to auto update in the android market. I'm guessing it will tell me there is an update available if I don't select auto update but can't say I've noticed it happen.
Anyone have a definitive answer?

For me, the Android Market/Google Play Store notifies me when there are updates available for any of my apps Mantano Reader included.

If I use the library and add my own catalog, can I change the default download location? I don't like it downloading to the root of the SD Card

I don't really understand the problem. If you're using Calibre to transfer books to your Android device, why not just use Calibre's save-to-disk option. You can then direct the books to any device folder you like, at the time of transfer via USB.

Alternatively, as your signature features Dropbox, use Calibre to save-to-disk to your Dropbox folder. Then use Android DropSync to sync the Dropbox books to your Android device's book folder of choice.

If you're not using Calibre, then the second option can still be used by drag-drop to the Dropbox folder.

I'm not using Calibre with my Cell Phone, which is what I'm wanting to use the Catalog within Mantano. I don't want to use several applications to just put a file where I want it when I could just download the file to the appropriate folder with the software...that's what I'm getting at, just letting it specify a folder.

+1 seems to be an omission. Seems odd that it let's me define where to look when I add books but when you download them it puts them somewhere else. Mad imho. :-P

It's easy enough to request for that feature and it's something the developers can easily implement. You can submit a request here.

Has anyone had any difficulties reading books purchased for BooksOnBoard?

I've recently purchase several books but when I load them into Mantano, it can't generate covers or open the books.

I'm using the latest version of Mantano available on On Google Play, Ver 2.0.2. I've not entered ADE details into Mantano, but the books have had a close encounter with Apprentice Alf though.

They open fine in ADE, my Sony T1 and in Bluefire.

I buy from them all the time and never an issue. Try doing an epub to epub conversion in Calibre and see if that fixes it.
