The Baltic War was one of the best. I did not think The Ram Rebellion was very good.

Would you consider Baltic War to be a doorstoper novel. Certainly 1633 was a door stopper, I am using my paperback copy as a door stop at home, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting.

For the record, I enjoyed the Baltic War better than 1633 though both were good. The Saxony Uprising is better than The Eastern Front though both are very good. I've generally learned how to skim the subplots that I'm less interested in.

Viginia DeMarce has gotten better over time. I certainly did not like her early writing in this series. Flint's last book in this series was one of the best. Andrew Dennis is not bad, and I'm looking forward to his next book. The Grantville Gazette seems to be petering out, but maybe they still have some good tales to tell. I've seen references to Flint's poor health so maybe he has those issues.

Is there another long fiction book after The Saxon Uprising? I think I'll need to find a new series soon if there isn't.

The Kremlin Games is due out in June. (Or now, as an eARC.) But it's more a parallel story.
There are certainly more in the pipeline, but I don't think there are any firm publication dates yet. |

Thanks. Which set of characters will the Kremlin Games be following? I'm assuming that since it is parallel then there is no Stearns, Higgins or Ulrich/Kristina.

There have been some stories in the Gazettes about this, and I expect this is based on/expands those. |

I also find it quite a stretch that everyone in a relatively poor coal mining town in the US knows every intimate detail of the 30 Years' War. I would be willing to bet that most American's don't know there was one, let alone where it was or who fought in it. All that being said I really enjoyed the first book. I thought books 2 & 3 were just okay. |

Hey, Wes. I could have read what I wanted to in 1632 but I remember, at least I think I do, that the normal citizens where pretty ignorant of what was going on and relied heavily on the school teachers and books to get caught up. Plus, speaking of average Americans, I KNEW of the Thirty Years War but beside it being supposedly a religous war I knew very little. That's what has made this series so much fun.

There have been several serials in the Grantville Gazette centering on Bernie Zeppi, an uptimer in Russia, and Prince Vladimir Petrovich Yaroslavich, a downtimer in Grantville. Bernie will be one of the central characters in "The Kremlin Games"
