Another newbie from Spain...

Hello to all!

I'm new to the forum and to the world of ebook readers (I just got my Hanlin recently). This place looks packed with very useful information about ebooks, formats, tools and all the rest. I'm delighted I've found it!

I have never heard of or seen a Hanlin, but if it gets you your ebook fix, then it simply must be a great thing.

You surely must have heard about the HanLin (or Hanlin) (or even Han-Lin) eBook? It is widely used (outside Texas, at least).

Maybe the confusion (my confusion, my mistake) arose from the use of the term "reader" next to "eBook"? As I said, I'm a newbie (although in years I'm an oldie, young man) in these matters. I still haven't figure out the terminology, so at first I will inevitably introduce a certain amount of entropy in my postings.

We have heard of the HanLin and have a forum section dedicated to it at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=101

The problem is that most of our members are in the United States and the HanLin is (to my knowledge) not yet generally distributed here. The few that are in the US were most likely ordered from and shipped in from overseas. Jinkie has their own format called WOLF for which they have released only a few details so there is no widespread support format conversion to it other than the Jinkie supplied MS Word for Windows print driver to create the files.

There is also information in the Wiki about the HanLin. I believe that one of our moderators has one that he acquired from Europe. Check out the HanLin forum, you will find more HanLin owners there.

Thanks, Rwood, for your warm welcome. I realize that not all brands and models of ebooks are available everywhere. I was -of course- only kidding in my previous message, and hope no one was annoyed by my comments.

As for the HanLin forum, thanks for the tip, I will surely browse through it. My problem right now is that all this stuff is basically new to me and I get lost with the tremendous amounts of formats and tools of various kinds available. I need to get my bearings in this brave "new" (to me) world. But I'm making progress, and I'm already learning quite a bit thanks to this board. Tons of things to read and digest.
