The Cat Who Wasn't Available in eBook Format

My wife and I recently discovered the Cat Who books by Lillian Jackson Braun, and we've been really enjoying them. So we just finished The Cat Who Played Post Office and I went to The Kindle store today to buy The Cat Who Knew Shakespeare, and it's not available. This is totally aggravating. The first 6 were available, and the next several after this are also available. These books sort of need to be read in order, and this is the kind of thing that drives people to darknet. It shouldn't be like this.

On the plus side, The Cat Who Knew Shakespeare is still in print and could be easily obtained (not so with the Ed McBain ones - had to get used for those and hope the quality was good). It's probably some kind of contract issue. Anyway, hope you enjoy the Cat Who series. Always a pleasure to read on a quiet day.

I love those books and now you've made me want to read them again; in ebook of course, even though I own the DTB's.

I too experienced this frustration - and even contacted the publishers - who assured me that this title would be added ..... this was 2 years ago ... so go buy the paperback version ... the rest of the series are available as ebooks.

It is annoying, isn't it? Another example is Ruth Rendell's "Inspector Wexford" series. The entire series is available as ebooks with one exception: "Kissing the Gunner's Daughter". Having to keep this one book in paper is irritating.

Ahem, in such cases of despair the darknet can usually provide relief with a retail quality scan, as others have felt the pain as well. This is really foolish by the publishers, as they shouldn't direct the steps of their most avid book buyers to such paths.

If you keep buying eBooks of a series that is incomplete, then you are sending a message to the publisher that it is OK not to have a complete series as eBooks.

There is the exception when the author changes publishers. But if that is not the case, don't buy any of the series until ALL of the books are available as eBooks. |

Then readers need to band together to try to get the missing eBook(s) made and then buy them.

Very much so. They're just enjoyable stories that are relaxing and easy to read. Perfect for unwinding in the evening.

So, the paperback came in yesterday, but I can't find the power button.

I enjoyed the stories, but not the character of Qwillian - I found him a pretentious prat.
