Thank you very much.

And a happy new year to the chinese crew, then!

Btw.: another feature request would be a 'stop connecting' button in the wifi dialog... it's sometimes difficult to spot the AP one wants to connect to quick enough... let alone manage settings of another entry.

Hi,

actually it is possible to install another TTS plugin (e.g SVOX or IVONA).
I have tried SVOX and the voice sounded very natural on the M92.
They have packages for Spanish too, but the TTS packages are not freeware.
The TTS function is currently however not as good as we expect (too slow and not convinient to control).
It is one of the task on the "has to be improved" list .

Welcome again.

If/when you find out things, please spare a minute to take them down in the wiki (tips'n'tricks, devel, software,...).
Sparing other folks the trouble to repeat work gives them more time to discover new stuff

Cheers.

You're wrong. Your point 2 is already there with 1.6. I do have 1.6 (and I never tested 1.7) and just today I noticed, that music is playing the loudest when the volument bar is indicating the lowest status.

In your profile I am reading 13" ereader. That certainly isn't an M92!
I'm running march 1.7rc
By the way I discovered the "scrolling pages" on the layout modes wich solved all the problems letting you do everything with the joystick and removing the annoying "start at the bottom of the page" feature on page turn.

hey booxtor can you me tell me if i should upgrade from 1.6 to RC 1.7 or just wait? I'm having no issues with 1.6 right but I don't mind some new features if it's available. It just seems like have problems after upgrading and some are running better with the upgrade. And it's like a 50/50 split almost

Dear Booxtor, pray tell how you installed SVOX on the M92?
I checked the SVOX website and $2.97 for a voice is quite reasonable. I can pay this to get a natural sounding voice.
The voices come as APK files. If you put these in a /tts directory on the SD card, they are not recognized.
The built in voices are in /usr/shared/tts and they are in DAT format (!!!???).
Cheers!

Is there a length restriction on annotation type comments?

I just annotated one thing twice, clicked 'OK' - and it was dismissed twice (without visible error message)

Refreshing screen and flipping between pages did not help - the annotation is definitely not there...

Update: it only works when I mark a very short area (one word) and write a very short text... maybe an overall limit on the length of all annotated passages? (that would be a bit silly...)

Update: Turns out that the SD card was full... which brings me to two *very* important feature requests (please point out to me, if I overlooked the options):
- Option to display current free/used storage space
- Warning when running low of storage space
I'll have to see whether all my annotations were saved... if I lost annotations due to a full card, that'd be about 1/2 a day of work lost <- so I deem the features _very_ important

Update: I actually did lose some work (although I was lucky and it was only ~15min. - but I mind that there was no way of knowing during editing, because my scribbles even appeared - they were just not saved afterwards ) ;
Interestingly, I still wasn't able to add 'annotation' style comments after freeing space on the SDCard... so I/someone should check that issue out *sigh*
On the positive side, I realized that merged PDFs do not only merge the highlighting, but also the comments for the annotated items... so it's possible to continue editing on the PC :P

There is also a problem if SD card is write-protected. M92 seems to work (saving things), but nothing is saved and no warning is issued.

I have micro SD card in SD adapter and when inserting to M92 it may happen that the switch on the adapter moves to lock possition. There is no means to get known, things do not work and no work is saved. (((
