That seems to be an Australian thing. I once had a reticulated python, but reticulation controllers were a new one on me, although at times, one might have proved helpful with my reticulated python. They appear to be the same thing we in the U.S. call sprinkler timers, irrigation controllers, or simply sprinkler controllers.
