Kickstarter - Soot Kickstand for the Fire

There is a kickstarter project for an interesting Fire stand:

It claims improved sound when the fire is placed in the stand.

Hope they manage to get their requested dollars, it'd be interesting to see one and if it really does improve the sound.

That depends on how you define "better"

It will certainly be heavier, more expensive and require a 110volt outlet. It seems like an expensive add-on for a $200 device, plus if Amazon changes the location of a single port, it is obsolete. By July 2nd it may already be obsolete.

True, two very different accessories. But I was addressing a poster's question of adequate sound/amplification. Obsolete? Perhaps, perhaps not. The Kickstart project isn't close to being funded, much less manufactured.

Problem with the more expensive one, you cant use it in movie mode (landscape) so whats the point of having big sound if your movies are sideways?

In their FAQ it does say:

Additionally, the cradle can be twisted either Verticially if you are just listening to music or horizontally if you want to watch a movie or TV show.

Verticially? Really?

Nothing like typo's and random capitization to really impress a potential customer.
