I don't plan to buy the ebooks. I bought the books when they were released in hardcover. When the grandkids are old enough to read the books, I'm hoping that they will read the pbook rather than the ebook version. I think reading a pbook is a more intimate experience than reading an ebook and is an experience children should have.

I would like to buy them, but I would also like to upgrade my Sony PRS-505 and am wondering if Sony may either offer a bundle of the books with a reader or sell them through their own store; in either of those cases I'd probably buy right away. I guess I'm mainly looking to buy them through my Sony account and not to have to register with Pottermore.

In the meantime, since I tend to not buy books until I'm ready to read them, I'm looking at the "I think I'll wait" option, although it really has nothing to do with price.

I read them as they came out and don't really need to read them again. I would probably buy the UK versions if they were available to me, but I'm not going to jump through hoops to do it, so looks like I'll pass for the time being.

I think geo restrictions are ridiculous anyway, particularly for digital goods on a world wide network, though I do understand some of the particular issues regarding different owners in different countries. To geo restrict based on slight differences in vocabulary within the same language when all the digital rights are owned by the same person is incomprehensible!

Someone posted how to buy the UK version for the US. Essentially it involves buying them as a gift and creating two accounts with different email addresses. I might give it a go if I ever get on the freaking site.
