I was at a party some years back, and there was this guy, over in a corner, did NOT look like he belonged at "this" party. Big tough biker sort of person, just standing there not talking to anyone.

So .... I love a challenge. I walk over and try to talk to him, and at some point one of us made some obscure MP reference, and the next thing you know we talked and laughed and did routines the rest of the evening.

After the party, I was talking to someone and they simply had to know how I had engaged this man in conversation ... for even five minutes let alone the entire evening.

It was a blast talking to him ..... we even did the entire Anne Elk routine:

My name is Anne Elk and I have a theory.
And, my theory is this ....

"When I saw it I was pretty shocked," he said. "There is no possible other way it could have got there than through the toilet. I had to give him a wash because he was wet and a bit smelly."

note that this happened in Darwin. you can't make this stuff up.
