I've had my Kindle for 3 weeks and have been looking for sites that discuss readers and their content. Previously I've been using my Macbook to read my large collection of Pdf files. I've been a member of Fictionwise for years. Last week I purchased a CD with 10k mobi-reader files that I just added to my computer and am in the process of sorting them out. So far I have spent about $30 on ebooks, $20 on an extra battery, $15 on a 4GB SD card and $20 on the 10,000 book CD of Public Domain ebooks. And this is just the begnning.

Hello there! Welcome to MobileRead. It's a nice place to hang out. You can certainly learn a lot about eBooks, formats, content, etc. You can also let your hair down and get silly. And, there are 1654 MobiPocket format books available here to download and read on your Kindle.

I don't know where PaganSoul got a CD, but you can find lots of them at e-Bay. See this item for example.

http://www.munseys.com about 25,000 books, classic and contemporary. Download in a variety of formats

www.mnybks.net - an extension of Manybooks above, but if you access it through the basic WebBrowser in Kindle, you can download directly to your Kindle, the way you would an Amazon book. Choose the Mobipocket format.

www.webscriptions.net This is Baen books and mostly SiFi. None are encrypted, many are free, and can be transferred directly to your Kindle. Choose Kindle compatible for the download.
